Archangel's Storm

is a story by the delightful Nalini Singh.  It continues the Guild Hunters series which involves a mixture of angel and vampires who have their own rigid structure and rules of interaction.  The political maneuverings necessitate care used with beings who have undergone a mysterious alteration in power even as the sanity and alliances of those who rule are in question.  A typical story involving characters who ostensibly should be mortal enemies that is rescued from being a formulaic story by this author's talent at creating intriguing characters, a compelling story and vivid imagery.  My Amazon review is at this
link under ELF2060 with the title
"The Guild Hunters: Jason's story" and a 'yes, this was helpful' vote is appreciated if you are so inclined.

It was a delight to meet the author at RWA this summer.
She is a very gracious and warm person and was very patient with all of
us nutty fans, posing for pictures and even signing cards after her
books had run out.  If you are unfamiliar with her books, she has
another fascinating and intricate series ('Psy/Changeling series') that
involves a world in which extremely powerful psychics who promote
emotionless lives struggle against a society which contains changelings
(shifters) who tend to live in packs and have their own structure and
hierarchy.  The first book in that series is
 Slave to Sensation.

I do like her books.
ReplyDeleteThey display such a nice combination of imagination and emotion and I have always been fascinated by telepathy so I enjoy seeing the permutations that she comes up with.
