A Woman for Zachary and Hot to the Touch by Adriana Kraft (Double Trouble blog tour, guest post) ADULT titles RBC

Guest Post:

 Double Trouble from Adriana Kraft

One of my favorite recent memes from FaceBook reads as follows: When I get old, they’re never going to say “what a sweet old lady.” They’re gonna say “what on EARTH is she up to now?!”

If that sounds like trouble, hold on to your hat—we’ve got a double dose heading your way.

Our two recent erotic romance ménage releases feature leading characters at mid-life. Baby boomers ourselves, we often write characters in their 40s, 50s, and even 60s and beyond.

If that’s not what trips your trigger, these two books aren’t for you – but, with any luck, all of us will reach these ages eventually, and we hope our readers do so with vim, vigor, and yes, a vibrant and active sex life.

We like to think some of our characters can light the way.

Hot to the Touch takes the mid-fifties couple who star in our Swinging Games series to a clothing optional RV resort for some summer fun. In A Woman for Zachary, the early twenties heroine who starred in Seducing Cat hooks up with a mid-forties woman and an early-fifties man to ignite the spark that’s been smoldering between them.

                                                                                                                                                                  A Woman for Zachary

 Blurb:

It’s New York! Broadway beckons, but Meg has more fun keeping an erotic triangle going with her current flame, Zach Cullen, and her drama coach, Josie Patrice.

Zachary Cullen has ignored Josette Patrice’s overtures for years, but she agrees to take on his latest protégé-slash-arm-candy Meghan Keenan in her off-Broadway workshop theater. Though the girl has incredible talent, Josie would stake her reputation on that little thing being a switch-hitter, like herself, and she doesn’t want Zach to be duped.

Josie sets out to seduce Meg and expose her for what she is, but all bets are off when Meg turns the tables on Josie to hook her up with Zach.

Excerpt:
Josie was shaking her head back and forth before Zach finished speaking. “That’s not enough.”
Zach closed the distance between the two of them.
She pressed her back against the wall, and he placed his palms against it, framing her head. She licked her lips.
What was he doing? She’d imagined him being this close countless times, but not in this way. Not in anger. Not struggling with his sense of fairness over sharing another woman.

She kept her arms locked at her sides.

“That’s exactly what Meg said. What is enough? Do we draw lots for her?”

Josie shook her head.

“Maybe I can have her even days of the month and you odd days.”

“That might work.” Josie could hardly breathe. Zach’s male scent was overpowering. She’d agree to almost anything, if he just stayed where he was. She should be afraid of him, but she wasn’t. This was a man she’d known for a decade. He might be very angry, even deeply pained, but he wouldn’t hurt her—at least not physically.

“It works for parking cars in the winter. It’s a beginning, I guess.” His eyes darkened with a passion she couldn’t decipher. She watched his eyes shut and re-open.

And then his mouth was crushing against hers. She tried to breathe through her nostrils. His muffled groans filled her mouth. Tentatively, she lifted her hands to his shoulders. It was as if he was in a trance. She sighed and pulled him closer. Maybe she was, too.

Can the summer get any hotter? Escaping Southern Indiana summer heat, swingers Brett and Jen check out a Minnesota clothing optional RV resort, where the rules are very different from the swing lifestyle venues they’re used to. When they spot a hot looking couple in the swimming pool, they’re definitely interested, but they know better than to make the first move. Will Paul and Kim turn out to be players, or will Brett and Jen get a cold shoulder?

Excerpt:

“Hi guys,” Kim said, giving Jen a hug. “We ran into traffic, but we’re here at last. I love your outfit, Jen. That short skirt is just right for your long legs. You guys are fine dancers.”
“And you look fantastic,” Jen managed to say. “That top is so sexy. As you said, just a touch of mystery. And I love those dangling earrings. They sparkle nearly as much as you do. Absolutely stunning.”
“Thank you,” Kim murmured, turning to hug Brett.
“As stunning as you look,” Paul said, gathering Jen into his arms for a long hug. “You both look scrumptious. Good enough to eat. Right, Brett?”
Brett nodded.

Jen noticed Kim made no move to break away from Brett’s arms. She watched the olive-skinned woman drag her lips across Brett’s wrist before lifting it up and sliding onto the curved bench. Jen slid in from the other side, with the guys sitting on either end. A bare leg brushed against her left leg, a trousered one against her right. If those legs were meant to only tease, she’d be very, very upset before the night was over.

The Couple by Harlie Williams (guest post and title spotlight)

I am happy to have a guest post from Harlie Williams, author of The Couple (unfortunately, we had a mild scheduling snafu and she has apologized so profusely that I am embarrassed at my frustration...caused by too many commitments and not enough spare time, but happy to be able to help spotlight her title and I am sure that you will join me in hoping that her life is going much smoother now!)

EPIC Fail but also a learning experience…sorta
by Harlie Williams

Man did I have an epic fail.  Forgot to write this guest post and this is so not good for a struggling author trying to get their name out.  Plus, I’m a blogger, too and I hate when authors forget that they are supposed to be on the blog.  *hangs head*

I could tell you that my life has been in upheaval since Christmas and that’s my excuse.  In some ways it is but it’s still no excuse for missing a blog post.  My life has been a form of a chaotic mess since before the holidays.  Hubs got sick before we left for the in laws and then I get sick on Christmas Eve.  Yes, I spent Christmas Day in bed wishing that the pain would go away.  Good thing is that our son never got sick.  I consider that a score.  Then we were semi stranded at the in laws because the hub's truck wouldn’t start.  Turns out it was the fuel pump and fuel filter.  That took two days to fix.  We finally made it home and everything was going well until two weeks later, the alternator went out on the truck.  *thud* The most awesome thing about the truck going down twice, the price to fix it wasn’t even close to a truck payment.  Yes, our vehicles are paid off and for this I’m grateful.  I’d rather fix a vehicle than have the dreaded payment hanging over our head every month.

Okay, so getting back to my epic fail…we’ve had other stuff come up that just happens in real life.  Unfortunately, I go still when something goes wrong.  I seize up, can’t function and tend to have anxiety attacks that can be incapacitating.  I can function at the house and with the family but my online duties, even checking emails take a back seat.  I’m still working on this because if I can concentrate on the positive than I could be deal with the negative.

So what do you do when bad things happen to you?  I have a friend that takes me off the ledge one too many times.  I love her to bits and if it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t be writing this post.

Again, I sincerely apologize for this and trust me, it won’t happen again.
Blurb:

A woman has one thing on her mind tonight…sex. Dirty, sweaty, kinky sex with a cowboy. With her man gone more than he is at home, she needs the release.
After being away for two weeks, a cowboy goes looking for someone to play with for the night. Being away is part of the job but not having someone to come home to is hurting his soul. Feeling disconnected in his love life, the red head will be perfect.
Once they meet, can one night of pure passion led to more than just a one night stand for either of them? Communication is the key to every relationship. Can these two find a way to connect emotionally or are they destined for heartache.

Excerpt (PG-13 for language)

“What’s a girl like you doing at a bar like this?” he asked.

Her voice was a purr, like a cat well satisfied with its stolen pitcher of cream. “I’m looking for someone special.”

Hoping that she meant him he asked, “Did you find him yet?”

“Maybe.” The glint in her eye told him he was definitely in the running.  However, I’m not looking to hook up with just any old cowboy.  He must be able to go the full eight seconds and come back for more.”  She eyed him from head to toe.  “Think you can handle that?”

Oh, I can most definitely handle you sweetheart.

Not wanting to seem too eager he replied, “I’m not sure but I’m willing to try.”

“Do or do not.  There is no try.”  He struggled not to let his grin escape.  The fact that she was trying to seduce him made his dick twitch.

“Let’s just say I’m looking to burn off some pent up frustration. A little excess energy.  And I’ve got plenty to burn.”

The way she shivered at his words, he knew he almost had her.  He winked as she licked her crimson lips and blew out a small breath.  Damn what this woman is doing to him.

He pushed her knees apart with his left leg and was rewarded with the amazing scent of her arousal.  The knowledge she was wet for him had him close to going off in his jeans.

Houston, we have lift-off!

“Why don’t you have a seat, cowboy, and we’ll talk about it.”

She gasped when he shocked her with a brush of his lips against hers; fighting with everything he had not to deepen the kiss.

Patience, patience.

He would play her game for the moment but sooner or later, she would be his.  Tied up and begging for more.

He asked her, “Now, about that eight second ride?”

Author Bio:

When she is not trying to be Super Blogger and reviewing for her own site, Harlie is a stay at home with a 3rd grade son that keeps her busy with all of his stuff.  Married for 9 years to her own hero and still madly in love with him, she wouldn’t change a thing about her life.  Okay, maybe living in Ireland or New Zealand but those are just pipe dreams.

A certifiable sports nut, she craves college football (OU Sooners and Texas A&M Aggies), Baseball (Texas Rangers and Houston Astros), Dallas Stars hockey and Houston Texans football.  After working for the Dallas Stars Hockey Club for 5 years and naming her son after Brian Leetch you’d think she write a hockey story.  Nope, been there, done that and the t-shirt is a rag.  She prefers just to watch the game now.  Less stress.

Harlie loves to hear from readers and other authors.  You can find her on Facebook most days.  Unless, she’s sitting in the carpool line.  The bane of her existence.

Kissing Her Cowboy by Adele Downs (spotlight, excerpt, review)

KISSING HER COWBOY by Adele Downs
A Lunchbox Romance Short Story
Only .99 from Boroughs Publishing!

A cowboy with a fractured back and a cop with a broken spirit heal on a Texas ranch with the help of a stallion named Big Blue.

Summary:
Treymont Woods is forced to take light duty work around Breezy Meadows Ranch after a rodeo accident. While Trey’s body heals, he offers riding lessons to Houston locals on the greatest horse that ever lived, Big Blue. When police officer Daisy Phillips arrives for her first session, sparks fly. But her invisible wounds run deep, making it hard for her to form connections. KISSING HER COWBOY is the story of two broken people who heal on the road to their happily ever after.

Excerpt:
“Oh, Lord.” Treymont Woods kicked up dust on his boots as he sauntered from the stables to the woman who just had to be his new riding student. Her flaming red hair swooshed from one side of her shoulders to the other as she watched his stallion, Big Blue, canter inside the corral. Her hands, knuckles white, clutched the fence and every muscle in her tall, slim figure looked tighter than rail posts. Before he could get to her, she pivoted toward the parking area, moving her feet like she was fixin’ to run.
“Hey there!” He called out as a distraction. By the time Trey reached the woman’s side, he could hear her breathing like she’d raced a Texas mile. Before he could introduce himself, she turned to him with wide green eyes and shouted, “He’s huge!” Pink splotches bloomed under the freckles on her pale skin.
She licked her bottom lip and shook her head. “No, no, no, no….” and started backing away. “I can’t do this. Keep my deposit. I’ll figure something else out.”
Trey lifted his hands in mock surrender. “Okay. No problem. You don’t have to ride if you don’t want to.”  Her jeans looked too tight for riding, anyway, and that white blouse would be smudged inside five minutes. Hadn’t the woman ever been to a ranch before?
She stopped moving then and frowned at him, causing twin lines to form above her nose. Her adorable nose, now that he’d gotten a decent look. In fact, everything about the woman seemed downright appealing, despite her reaction to Big Blue. Who in their right mind wouldn’t love the greatest horse that ever lived, on sight?

Review:

3 3/4 out of 5 stars

“Kissing Her Cowboy” by Adele Downs is a contemporary romance short story that introduces a police officer, Daisy Phillips, who has moved to Houston looking for a new start.  Treymont Woods survived a serious rodeo accident and is rebuilding his life by teaching others to ride while he works on regaining his own ability to do so.  They each have formidable obstacles to overcome and may learn to help each other navigate them.

This is an entertaining but all too short story that whets one’s appetite for more.  The challenges that each of the pair must overcome requires that a traumatic experience must be put behind them and I think that is a bit glossed over but this is undoubtedly due to the strictures imposed by the length of the story.  This is a great beginning and hopefully will be expanded at some point.

A copy of this title was provided to me in exchange for an honest review
