I have an interview with author Vanessa Vale today. My apologies, this is one of the rare times I do not have an excerpt to share with you!
Do you ever wish you were someone else? Who?
VV: I have very curly hair which means I don't really have a
hair style. Just lots and lots of dark curls. I've come to embrace them now,
but when I was little, I wanted to be Princess Diana. She had the perfect
hairstyle, all layered and smooth—and blond.
What did you do on your last birthday?
VV: The day before my last birthday was the release day for the
first
Vanessa Vale book (Claiming Catherine). So besides not cooking and eating
out (I don't remember where!), I was probably watching my Amazon page for book
sales!
What part of the writing process do you dread?
VV: The middle of the book! The first part is exciting because
it's a new story, but by the time I get to the middle, I'm in a slump. I have
to do a writer's sprint or something to get me past that uninspiring section
until the end is in sight and the characters are all set to wrap up.
Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do
you do about it?
VV: I do! I solve writer's block by sitting in the bath tub.
I've been thinking I could write off a hot tub if I use it for solving my plot
problems! Until then, I love to sit in the tub and think. No one interrupts me,
which is huge in my house. Sometimes I work on my plotting in the shower, but
there I can't remember if I used shampoo or not.
Tell us about your latest release.
VV: I'm writing the Wildflowers of Montana
Series. The book

The other flower books in the series (to come) are Marigold,
Iris, Lily and Poppy.
All of the books are set in the Montana Territory in the
