Hi everyone! I’m so happy to be here celebrating the release of my new book, Wolf in Gucci Loafers.
I’m Tara Lain and I write the Beautiful Boys of Romance. ELF suggested you might like to know why I write MM romance, so here goes. Back in 2010, I decided suddenly to write a romance novel. I’m a non-fiction writer in my day job, and the only thing I could ever imagine writing at night and on the weekend was romance! My first book idea centered around an older woman/younger man romance between a renowned geneticist and her younger research partner. Then I (accidentally) read my first MM romance novel -- Heaven by Jet Mykles. I loved it so much, I was instantly hooked and I added another man to my story. Just like that, I was a MM writer and I’ve never looked back.
Why was I captivated? In MM romance, there’s a lack of gender roles. In traditional MF romance, no matter how kickass the heroine is, she usually succumbs to a kick-assier hero. In MM, I can play around all I want with the dynamic between the men and let the play of dominance ebb and flow. Gay romance also comes with unique “wounds” for my heroes. They have a separation and “otherness” built-in, and have often had to go through experiences that make them survivors. Sadly, there isn’t much reaching for conflict and angst. It comes with the territory. I also think women love seeing into the emotional life of men. Peeking at the feelings that may play under the more unreadable surface. Because I believe in true love, I like nothing better than giving my guys their happy-ever-after. Oh and did I forget to mention that if one guy is hot, two are hotter? LOL.
Here’s a nibble from Wolf in Gucci Loafers showing some of this play of dominance between my men. Enjoy!
BLURB:
Socialite Lindsey Vanessen wants someone to love who will love him
back—an impossibility for a gay, half-human, half-werewolf. Too
aggressive for humans, too gay for wolves, and needing to protect the
pack from human discovery, Lindsey tries to content himself with life as
a successful businessman. But when someone starts kidnapping members of
wealthy families, Lindsey meets tough cop Seth Zakowsy—the hunky
embodiment of everything Lindsey wants but can't have.
Seth has
never been attracted to flamboyant men. What would the guys in the
department think of Lindsey? But intrigue turns to lust when he
discovers Lindsey’s biting, snarling passion more than matches his
dominant side. It might mean a chance at love for a cop in black leather
and a wolf in Gucci loafers.

ADULT Excerpt:
“Much as I love the opportunity, I don’t want to waste time driving.” He cocked a grin at Lindsey in the dark car.
“Don’t worry. You won’t. Drive.”
“Okay.” He hit the accelerator. Holy shit. Instant speed. No rumble, no roar, no lag or leaping ahead. Just zero to infinity with a touch.
“Wow. This is freaky!”
“Fun, isn’t it?”
“Give me directions.”
“Okay. Pull down your fly.
“What?” He glanced over, but Lindsey’s face was not smiling—intense, actually.
“You want directions? You got them. Pull out your cock!”
He swallowed but reached down and pulled the zipper on his very crowded trousers. This sounded promising.
“Get it out!”
“Okay, okay.” He reached in, grabbed his leaking rod, and pulled it from its prison. Man, just rubbing on his briefs was almost too much. That was one sensitive cock. The thing stuck up out of his fly like a puppet.
“Pull the balls out too. I like balls.”
Seth chuckled. “Your wish is my command.” He flopped his balls out of the fly. They were already so tight they barely bobbled.
“Very, very pretty. Definitely Connecticut’s finest. Can I lick them?”
“Shit, feel free.”
“Drive carefully. Keep your eyes on the road.” Lindsey laughed.
Only a small space and a brake lever separated the two seats. Lindsey leaned over, insinuated his head into Seth’s lap and breathed. Oh man, hot breath warmed the tip of his dick.
“He seems glad to see me.”
Seth could barely breathe, much less talk.
Lindsey swallowed the thing whole. Sheeee-it! Heat flashed through Seth’s balls and up his spine like he’d been shot. The car swerved. Damn. He gripped the wheel and slowed down.
Lindsey’s lips popped off. “This is your driver training course. All gay cops must drive while receiving head.” He shoved Seth’s dick back in his mouth and sucked.
Oh God. His hips bobbed. Fuck. Fuck. His knuckles on the wheel were white, but he didn’t want to give up and stop. The speed and sucking went together like peanut butter and jelly. The quiet in the car was punctuated by low growling sounds coming from the suckfest in his lap. What was up with the guy? But man, the sounds were right on the money. He felt like a fucking animal.
His balls tightened further and tingling tickled at the base of his spine. “Lindsey, I’m going to come. I gotta stop. I’ll wreck the car.”

My review for
Wolf in Gucci Loafers
4 out of 5 stars
Wolf in Gucci Loafers by Tara Lain continues the saga of the subset of the wolf-shifter clan which is featured in the series, ‘Tales of the Harker Pack’. Lindsey Vanessen is the pampered scion of a wealthy family but, although he is open about his preference for males, he must keep his half-werewolf nature secret. His propensity to protect those around him causes him to take on an alter-ego but he never imagined that this would put him into contact and conflict with his mate, policeman Seth Zakowsky, who definitely would frown at Lindsey’s actions, let alone the complications of having a relationship with a guy who gets furry and runs on four feet occasionally.
This delicious m/m erotic paranormal romance continues an intriguing series that focuses on the relatively rare gay wolf-shifters in a particular pack. Another very unusual couple of males have to find a way to become comfortable with one another and fortunately have the sexy Alphanta Cole Harker, featured in the previous novella, to use as an example of the benefits of following one’s heart. There is a fun depiction of a sport that I am completely unfamiliar with, polo, as well as the poignant introduction of another male who is searching for his identity. This author’s characters are always such great examples of the importance of finding a way to be comfortable in your own skin and the combination of suspense and heat in this story is a wonderful combination. I always look forward to discovering what new relationships Ms. Lain will reveal in another of her creative stories and hope that we get a chance to learn even more about this particular wolf pack and those who are connected to it.
The first in the series is
The Pack or the Panther and my review is at this
