EXCERPT
When she arrived at the foot
of the stairs, she poked her head into another long hallway. Again, no voices
or sounds of people moving about.
Regina came to a door left
ajar and smelled salty water and incense. Looking up and down the empty
passageway, she stepped inside for a quick look.
The gasp escaped her lips
when she entered the underground pool room. It was like stepping back in time
to an ancient Roman bath. The faded and broken mosaics may have been authentic
and when she looked closer, her body responded to the erotic depictions of men
and women pleasuring one another.
She walked from one scene to
the next, mesmerized by the inventive and carefree displays of sexuality.
"Are you the
goddess?"
Her clutch hit the stone
floor. She turned and found him watching her.
Chained to a large stone
like a sacrificial offering, he was completely nude and unable to cover his
erection.
She took in his powerful
legs, planted wide in the shallow water. Lean hips gave way to a solid abdomen
and an impressive chest that made her imagine how it would feel to rest her
head on.
When her gaze met his smile,
she snapped out of it and looked away to give him privacy.
"I guess you're not
her. Do you happen to have the key," he asked.

AUTHOR Bio and Links:
Isabel Winsor is the author of Unleashed Under the Mistletoe and Stay With Me. She is the superhero identity of a multi-published author who
began life writing romantic comedies and chick lit. When she was told to tone
down the sex, she wondered what it would be like to really let loose! One year
shy of turning 40, and tired of being a chicken, Isabel wrote her first erotic
romance. There’s no stopping her now!

My review:
4 out of 5 stars
Stay With Me by Isabel Winsor is an erotic romance story
dealing with two people who have a remarkably carnal encounter at the
mysterious place known as The Grove. Speer Kinneman and Regina Chase start
their relationship a bit backwards, and then it is almost over before it
begins, due to mistrust, insecurity, and painful events from the past. Each of them has to work through issues, but
one thing is sure, they are definitely sexually compatible—but will it be
enough for them to heal from their respective pasts?
This sizzling tale combines intense angst and a series of
sexual encounters that ignite the page. I thought there was a bit of a
disconnect in the way there was a BDSM element introduced unexpectedly without
much preparation and the sexual aggression that seems so at odds with Regina’s
public face. The push-pull of the
relationship was a bit irksome at times but the searing emotionalism as they
finally find a way to open up to one another is impressive. What I find most frustrating are the nuggets
that are strewn around that deserve to be more thoroughly explored, both the
secondary characters and the mysterious Grove.
This is the first story that I have read by this author, but I would
definitely like to read more about all of the elements.

DeleteIs there one subject you would never write about as an author? What is it?
ReplyDeleteHi Mai: Any subject is fair game but the treatment of that subject is what is important to me. For example, I do not condone sexualizing underage minors and I would not portray that as something desirable in a book. However if a character was abused in that manner, I would treat it with a great deal of sensitivity and honesty.
DeleteThanks for asking such a great question! It certainly made me think about it.
Best, Isabel
