Deathscape
by Dana Marton is a mesmerizing paranormal romantic suspense tale featuring an artist and the man she saves through an inexplicable talent she has acquired. The imagery is fascinating even as the story sends chills down your spine. The author did a nice job of character development and I was very entertained learning more about the driven detective who is determined to catch a killer yet gentle enough to communicate with a lonely young girl. There is a great scene where he internally critiques the young girl's artistic ability and has to re-evaluate his opinion when he sees the cookies that her artwork is based upon. I was giggling so hard at the rueful commentary that I can't help but salute the author's dexterity at creating a realistic scene. There several eerie scenes which add the paranormal element but it is not overpowering if that is not a genre to your taste. I thought that all of the elements join nicely to make a very entertaining story. My Goodreads review is at this link. The e-book version is a great bargain but this is also available for in print format for those like me who like having actual pages to turn!
