Past Lives Series - Loves of our Lives and Love by Knight by AC Chenier (NBtM, guest post, excerpt, and GIVEAWAY) GFT

It is my pleasure to share a guest post by author AC Chenier, who answers...

ELF: What would be your dream place to visit and why?

ACC: My dream place would not only be a where, but a “when in time” too. I would love to go back in time and be present at some of the incredible historic places in the world as they were being built, or newly completed. How amazing would it be to actually see the Pyramids of Giza, The Acropolis, Stonehenge, The Coliseum in Rome or Notre Dame de Paris cathedral when they were actually brand new buildings and just opening.

I remember visiting Notre Dame in 2004 on my honeymoon. We happened to arrive at the time of a mass service, so were treated to the extra spectacle of a full service and the eerie sounds of the organ as it played. The past crowds you in that building. Imagine if the stones could talk, what they would say? Would they remember the thousands of masons who built it, the hundreds of priests and bishops who led mass, and the throngs who have worshipped and visited?

But just imagine being there in 1272, the year it was finished. What did the people of the time think of the grand cathedral that had just opened? Was it open to all or only the elite? Was it considered a boondoggle of the church? And what would those same people say if you told them the monument would last for over 800 years?

If I had to choose one historic site to visit today, and then be catapulted to the past, I would select Stonehenge. The uncertainty and mysticism surrounding how and why Stonehenge was built has always been fascinating to me. I would love to visit at either the summer or winter solstice, and celebrate the turning of the seasons at that truly wondrous site.

Love by Knight – Book 2

The car quickly left the airport behind and drove toward the waterfront area. Neil pointed out a spectacular church on his side of the car and Kelly was so busy taking in the views around her, that she scarcely noticed when he slid his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close to him. The feeling of his hand and arm around her shoulder felt so natural that she just snuggled closer to him. His hand tightened on her. She looked at him in the dimly lit interior of the car. She recognized the passion she saw in his eyes, and was pretty sure that it was reflecting the passion in her own eyes.

Neil stared into Kelly’s eyes for a brief moment and then his gaze drifted to her lips. She licked them nervously. He bent his head to kiss her. He gently placed his lips on hers, and was fascinated by the fire that he felt in his entire body. His body tightened again as it had that afternoon. The passion flared within him. He knew that he was going to have to make love to this woman beside him tonight, before she left town. He needed to claim her as his own before she left for Canada.

Kelly let herself drift with the sensations that engulfed her with the tender pressure of his lips. It was unlike anything she had ever felt before. There was softness and yet a harnessed passion that she could feel within him, and building within herself. She was struggling with the heat pooling in her body. This was a feeling both sudden and startling in its intensity. She was unsure what was going to happen between them.

At that moment, the car came to a halt. The chauffeur commented that they had arrived and then opened his door. They broke apart and gazed briefly at each other before sliding out of the car.

    1. Yes, visiting Notre Dame was a wonderful experience. Especially since I got to hear the organ playing while I was there. I would go back to Paris in a heart beat, since I didn't get the time to go visit the Louvre.
