I love giving and receiving signed books as gifts...It's expected from me now since I go to so many booksignings
ReplyDeletejosiehink122026(at)gmail(dot)com
Thanks for the awesome giveaway! I'd have to say as a kid, my favorite was when I got the Anne of Green Gables box set. I loved that series!!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
efender1(at)gmail(dot)Com
Thanks for the giveaway. I love 'discovering' new authors so your giveaway is a wonderful opportunity and Demon's Curse sounds very intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThe most special book I ever received was Happy Holidays written and illustrated by my son when he was in 2nd grade. It was a collection of short poems, stories, and pictures embellished with glitter and such. It is only 20 pages of colorful construction paper bound by red satin ribbon but so much love and thought went into it.
Wishing everyone a wonderfully joyous holiday season!!
kaladata2(at)gmail(dot)com
I still have the copy of "Snow White & Rose Red" my aunt gave me when I was a little girl--it was one of my favorites growing up. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway, this book sounds good & I love a series!
Happy Holidays!

I want this book. Love the cover.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is not just one book, but would be my nook. I got it from my kids and have about 400+ books on it.
Thanks for the giveaway.

Thank you all for visiting, I love hearing that there are plenty of other reading addicts out there! Thank you for the compliments of the blog C. Descoteaux, I am fortunate that I live in an area where there is not LIKELY to be snow but this picture does make me envious, lol. Good luck to all of you on the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love to read so I always get books for holidays. I think they've all been my very favorite at the time :)
ReplyDeleteMinDaf @ aol.com

cky15: Carol L was right when you receive books that are signed by your favorite authors. I get all excited even when I have swag that are signed.
ReplyDeletecwall88@yahoo.com
Thanks for the great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThat's a hard question for me to answer because I have been given so many great books for so many reasons. One author friend read in a blog post that I was feeling down one day and sent one of her humorous books to me just to cheer me up. That was just such a nice thing to do. But I think my favorite and the book that means the most to me is the first romance book my mom ever gave to me. My mom might not be with us anymore, but I still have the first romance book she ever gave me.

It's funny, for someone who loves the written word so much...I have never been that gung-ho for autographs. I have been fortunate to get quite a few that are signed by some of my favorite authors but I like to take pictures more than I collect signatures.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you have something tangible to keep your mom's memory alive for you, Mary, I once attended a talk by the delightful Cherry Adair where she talked about her books being 'old friends' that she loves having around her and I thought that was such a perfect way to put it!
The best book I ever gifted was a leatherbound complete Edgar Allen Poe collection to my boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say the best I've been given this year has been Tara Sivec's Seduction & Snacks :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome giveaway!
cassandrahicks1989@yahoo.com
there’s been so many books give & received it’s hard to say/pick one, but one that was special was when I was about 9 & not feeling well while on vacation, my brother (who has always been big into comic books) picked me up a new Isis (which was a Sat morning show we’d watch) comic book to pick up my spirits.
ReplyDeletegamistress66 (at) aol (dot) com
When I was growing up I loved the book "A Fish Out of Water" by PD Eastman. It was a cute book about a fish that was over-fed and kept growing. Well once I was an adult my Mom bought me this book to remind me of the happy times I had growing up.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway.

That sounds like a very generous gift Caitlin, I am sure that the beauty of the binding only enhanced the works of Mr. Poe. Tara Sivec is a new to me author Cassandra but I must say that her covers certainly look tasty (and fattening, lol). What a great brother gamistress66! Melissa, I can identify with that fish, sounds like a great book to remind you of good times. Thanks for visiting and good luck everyone!
ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter was 9, I gave her Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl, because they were two books that meant a lot to me when I was her age. As she was growing up, many books got added to her collection ....Brave New World, The Miracle Worker, Slaughterhouse Five and most recently The Great Lenore by J.M Tohline.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's 27 now, a couple of months ago on a social media site, there was a question about her favorite book -- her answer? Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl...
Happy Holidays & thanks for the amazing giveaway!
