Simon & Rose: Mark Anderson's Story: Le Beau series follow-up to Simon by V.A. Dold (REVIEW) ADULT title

Simon & Rose: Mark Anderson's Story: Le Beau series follow-up to Simon by V.A. Dold

This is an ADULT title

BLURB:

NOTE: Complete novel. No cliffhanger. Dual POV. This is an adult paranormal romance with erotic content. The series centers on New Orleans Billionaire Wolf Shifters with plus sized BBW for mates. It also includes vampires, voodoo priestess, a Marine, and magic. These are stand-alone books that create a series. They do not need to be read in order. Of course, the story is richer if the books are read in order.

Simon Le Beau desperately wants two things: to help his fellow service veterans and have a baby with his beloved mate, Rose. His experience of being stuck in wolf form has spurred him into action. He has no idea how to start a charity, but he’s determined to figure it out. And his friend, Mark, is just the man to help him.
Rose Le Beau loves her mate, but babies terrify her. What does she know about babies? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Tragically wounded, combat veteran Mark Anderson has a lot of time on his hands. No longer able to serve his country and suffering from PTSD, he’s bored and at his wits end. That is, until his conversation with Simon. What had he been thinking when he offered to be one of the singles auctioned off? A date, he’s okay with. Anything more sends him into a panic attack.
Sharon Lejeune is tired of being set up with losers in the hopes she will find her one true mate. Her intuition is screaming that something big is about to happen. She just didn’t expect that something big to be her mate. Who knew a shifter could purchase a mate at a singles auction?
Will Mark’s insecurities destroy his chance at happiness?
Will Sharon lose her one true mate to PTSD?
Even if she wins her mate’s heart, would he survive the conversion?
Can Simon’s love and desire for a child convince Rose that babies aren’t something to fear?
To the Le Beaus, family is everything. Together, there isn’t much they can’t overcome. Have they finally met a situation they can’t solve?

BIO:

V.A. Dold is an Amazon best selling author of the Award-winning Le Beau Series and the K.I.S.S series.

Prior to becoming a full-time writer, she was a publicist for authors.

Her idea of absolute heaven is a day in the French Quarter with her computer, her coffee mug, and the Brothers, of course. Or a night with a sexy cowboy in the hayloft.

A Midwest native, with her heart lost to Louisiana & Texas. She has a penchant for titillating tales featuring sexy men and strong women. When she's not writing, she's probably taking in a movie, reading, or traveling. Oh, and there is the distinct possibility she is out cowboy hunting.

My review:

3.75 stars

Simon & Rose: Mark Anderson’s Story by V.A. Dold is part of the ‘Le Beau HEA’ series and follows the book, “Simon”.  This paranormal romance features veteran Mark Anderson (and his service dog Rizzo) who is trying to support his friend Simon’s dream of a charity to provide PTSD dogs. The unexpected benefit of his support is meeting Sharon Lejeune, who has finally found the male that she and the wolf inside her agree is her mate. She’s comfortable in her body and must find a way to convince Mark to be comfortable in his, otherwise they won’t have a chance to have a life together.

This is my first introduction to this fascinating series and I was delighted to discover personable characters and an interesting storyline. I had no trouble reading this as a stand-alone story although I am now curious about some of the other folks I was given a brief glimpse of.
--> Those who are disturbed by such things should be forewarned that there are frequently shifting points-of-view.

I enjoy stories with military or ex-military characters and the emphasis on taking care of wounded warriors was even better for me. It is lovely that Sharon is a strong, successful woman and willing to pursue what she is interested in, and although the results of her mating with Mark are pretty fantastical, they do add an intriguing twist to the story. The combination of sensuality and descriptions of the practical implications and drawbacks of integrating a non-shifter into a paranormal society makes this an enjoyable story for me and I look forward to getting to know more of the characters who occupy this world.
